Power and Water delivers power, clean drinking water and sewerage services year-round across some 1 350 000 square kilometres, stretching from Australia’s Red Centre north to the sea.
It has more than 70 000 customers based in five major centres, eight smaller towns and 79 remote communities throughout the Northern Territory.
Power and Water have five major power stations use natural gas delivered by a 1500 kilometre pipeline between Central Australia and Darwin. It also operate diesel power stations in the more remote corners of the Territory.
With assets of more than $1 billion, an annual turnover of $400 million, and over 700 employees, Power and Water makes an enormous contribution to the Northern Territory economy.
Each year Power and Water spend over $300 million on operational costs alone and they buy goods and services where possible from local companies.
