ElectraNet wins Energy Networks Industry Innovation Award
ElectraNet has been awarded the Energy Networks Industry Innovation Award for 2024.
ElectraNet’s South Australia Interconnector Trip Remedial Action Scheme (SAIT-RAS) took out the top honour in the innovation category,
Presented at Energy Networks Australia (ENA’s) annual Dinner + Awards, the award recognises leadership in the design, development and application of a ground-breaking Australian energy network initiative.
ElectraNet’s project is a protection scheme designed to enable the continued energy transition, whereby – if a network event occurs while exporting or importing energy at high transfer conditions – the SAIT-RAS will automatically respond to ensure system stability for the whole state.
ENA Chief Executive Officer, Dom van den Berg said the project took a collaborative approach, co-designing alongside project partners and engaging with stakeholders from across the industry.
“This is the largest and most complex protection scheme in the National Energy Market (NEM) and ensures SA continues to push the energy transition.”

CutlerMerz is the 2024 presenting partner for the Industry Innovation Award and Managing Partner Tim Edwards said: “Our ambitions surrounding the energy transition can only be realised if our people are thinking ahead.”
ElectraNet’s win demonstrates how emerging needs are not only being anticipated, they are being actively formulated and implemented. This is innovation, and it’s been a privilege to be associated with this award category.”
The winners were announced at the Energy Networks Australia Annual Dinner along with the Individual Contribution Award, Women in Networks Award and Consumer Engagement Award.
